FAQs

What is the difference between Microblading & Blade & Shade?

Microblading is the process of gently implanting a color pigment into the skin using a small, sterile, microblade. This creates individual crisp hairstrokes; resulting in very natural looking eyebrows. The microblading method tends to appear more "natural", but I only recommend Microblading alone if you already have a decent amount of eyebrow hair and want to achieve natural brows that blend in with your existing hairs. With microblading, there are gaps in between each stroke (so that the strokes don't heal together), which may not create the "fullness" some desire. You may still have to fill in your brows with makeup if you are looking for something more defined.

Blade & Shade is the combination of both Microblading & Shading. I use a shading machine to "fill in" the brow more and create fullness. I recommend this service if you have little to no brow hair, uneven brows, or thin and dark eyebrows. If you do not have symmetrical eyebrows, you will most likely need shading to help balance the brows out. I focus the shading towards the end of the brows & where ever else needed to make them symmetrical.

You are able to let me know if you want light-heavy shading.

How long will my brows last?

It's important to know that results may vary. Everyone heals and accepts pigment differently.

Microblading can last 1-2 years and will fade over time.

A touch-up is recommended when you feel your brows are starting to fade a lot and your shape is no longer defined. This will vary from person to person.

I provide the same service for every client but retention is dependent on your skin and lifestyle. There are no guarantees made as to how your brows will heal. Skin type, overall health, healing ability, bleeding scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products, supplements, medications, etc. all play a key role in how the pigment will hold.

How long is the session?

It can take 3-4 hours for full session appointments, this includes paperwork, consultation, numbing, and the procedure.

I am very detailed and take my time with this process, I want to insure everything is symmetrical and neat.

Touch-ups can take 2-3 hours.

How long does it take to heal?

The healing process varies by client, but usually 7-14 days. The brows will be truest to color around 3-4 weeks.

Does it hurt?

I provide a topical numbing cream & gel throughout the procedure to minimize discomfort. Pain tolerance varies from client to client. Most clients don't feel anything at first, but may start to feel little "pinches" here and there. The ink & products being applied may begin to burn slightly closer to the end of the session, but overall it is bearable.

Do I need to wax or thread my eyebrows before my appointment?

No, please refrain from waxing, threading, or tweezing for at least 7 days prior to your appointment to prevent any irritation & to allow your brows grow out.
